Frederick Francis Krass

Frederick Krass of Port St. Lucie, Florida, 90 years old, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2026. Fred was born and raised in the Bronx, New York, then resided in Massapequa on Long Island, New York for 50 years before relocating to Port St. Lucie, Florida in 2016. He was born on March 14, 1936 to Frederick Krass, Sr. and Mary (Fitzgerald) Krass. On September 17, 1960, he married the love of his life, Mary (Lynch) Krass, and they subsequently raised their 3 children, Frederick III, Maureen & Michael (deceased April 15, 2013) in Massapequa, New York. Fred had a long and successful career working in Transportation in New York City for the Manhattan Transit Authority (MTA). He always enjoyed sharing with family and friends his many stories from his bus driving days in NYC. He retired from the MTA after 25 years, and he was very proud of his perfect driving safety record. After retirement from the MTA, Fred worked for 10 years as a bus driver for the Board of Cooperative Education Services (BOCES) on Long Island. He enjoyed transporting BOCES students to and from school, and the students liked him so much that they often invited him to join them on school field trips.

Fred was a generous man who fondly shared stories of his time working as a bus driver and about his younger years growing up in the Bronx. He was an enthusiastic New York Giants Football fan and an avid reader, but his greatest joys came from his family. He is survived by his children, Frederick Krass III and Maureen (& her husband, Larry) Lutrin, his grandchildren Michael (& his wife, Aleana) Krass, Erin Krass & Jon-Paul Lengua, and great-grandaughter, Astra Jade Lengua. A beloved brother of Edward (Dawn) Krass and Joan (Ron) Lemp, a beloved brother-in-law of Margaret (Peggy) McCann, Daniel Lynch Sr. and Mary Lynch and a wonderful Uncle of Stephanie Krass, Robert Krass Jr., Francesca Krass, Bob Krass, Angela Krass(deceased), Ronny Lemp, Christine Davis, Eddie Lemp, Jimmy McCann, Kevin McCann, Tricia Lynch and Daniel Lynch. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Krass, his son, Michael Krass, his brother, Robert Krass and his brother-in-law, James (Jim) McCann. Fred will be forever missed by all who knew him.

A private family graveside service and burial ceremony will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at 1:00pm at Rolling Oaks Cemetery at 2200 SW Del Rio Blvd, Port St. Lucie, FL 34953.
