Emily Kate Virgin of Fort Pierce, Florida passed away peacefully on September 12, 2026 at Treasure Coast Hospice. Emily was 30 years old.

Born on June 18, 1996 to Ricky and Suzie Virgin at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness, Fl, Emily was the youngest and only daughter in her family. She spent her childhood in the Crystal River area, where she excelled in cheerleading and other sports. Emily started cheer with Pop Warner Crystal River Sharks at the age of 5 and continued her love of cheer through her senior year of high school. She graduated from Crystal River High School in 2014 and earned her AA degree from Indian River State College in 2015.

Emily was a bright and loving light with a generous heart and a kind soul. She loved her friends dearly and they meant the world to her. Emily tried very hard to help others and to make them feel included and loved. She cherished her dogs Cooper, Hank and Mox and was most definitely a “Dog Mom”. A hard worker, Emily worked as a server at many restaurants in Fort Pierce. She took pride in taking care of her customers, and especially loved her regulars and considered many her friends.

Emily was an avid fisherman since she was a little girl. She fished her first Lady Angler tournament at age 8 and finished second overall. She caught many large fish, some so big that many didn’t believe she could do it on her own. But she most certainly did! Once she set her mind to something, she was going to achieve her goal. During COVID, Emily and her Dad fished daily, bringing several large wahoo to the dock, including a 58 pounder she insisted she was going to handle on her own. And, of course, she did. She also loved annual trips to the Keys with her family to lobster. She could scout our spots and give an accurate description of whether it was worth stopping or not. Her Dad and brothers taught her well and she looked forward to that special trip each year.

Emily also loved all kinds of music and attended many concerts and festivals. She enjoyed EDM and attended Okeechobee Music Festival for many years, Electric Daisy Carnival, Electric Forest in Michigan, as well as many others including Ultra in Miami, EDC in Las Vegas and a festival in New Orleans. We last saw Hank Williams, Jr., one of her favorite artists, in West Palm Beach in June and it is a memory we will always cherish.

Emily is survived by her parents, Ricky and Suzie Virgin and brothers Chad and Garrett Virgin, her grandparents Sam and Debra Virgin, Uncle Glenn Rogers, Aunts Cindy Virgin, Cheryl (Travis) Hooker and Jennifer Rogers, and her niece Averie Virgin. She is also survived by cousins Courtney, Candace and Sophia Rogers and Tanner and Fletcher Hooker. Emily has a large extended family and has a great number of aunts, uncles and cousins who loved her dearly. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Glenn Rogers, Sr. and Charlene Littlefield.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Thursday, October 1, 2026 at 6:30 pm in Pepper Park on North Hutchinson Island. Emily loved the beach and it seems fitting to gather on the sand to remember our sweet girl.

A second service is planned on Sunday, October 4, 2026 at 1:30 pm at River Life Church 2872 W. Dunnellon Road Dunnellon, FL 34433. Emily was born and raised in Citrus County and we look forward to celebrating Emily’s life with her friends and classmates. Emily was a Christian and it gives us great comfort to know she is now in Paradise with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, as well as all of her loved ones who went before her. We know we will be with Emily again in Heaven.
