ELMER EDWIN BERGMAN

Elmer Edwin Bergman, 86, died August 19, 2010, in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Mr. Bergman was born in Harvey, Illinois and moved to Port St. Lucie in 1979 from Homewood, Illinois.

He was a World War II Veteran, serving in Europe. He was a retired Manufacturing Engineer who was general foreman of Whiting Corporation in Harvey, Illinois and pioneered the use of machine language for CNC machines. He was a talented amateur woodworker and an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Port St. Lucie who served on their board of trustees for many years.

Survivors include his daughters, Joan Cain of Mequon, WI and Karen Babcock of Chicago Heights, IL; 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 260 S.W. Prima Vista Blvd., Port St. Lucie, FL 34983.

Services are private. Arrangements are under the direction of Haisley Funeral & Cremation Service.
