Ella Louise Baker Huie

Ella Louise (Baker) Huie was born on April 21, 1945, in Dade City, Florida. She entered eternal rest on February 20, 2026, just two months shy of her 81st birthday.

Ella was united in marriage to Barrington Huie on March 28, 1996.

She was employed by the Broward County School Board for 22 years, where she faithfully served her community. Ella worshiped for 24 years at Church of the Open Bible in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. After relocating to Port St. Lucie, Florida, she became a devoted member of Christ Fellowship Church, where she remained faithful until her health no longer permitted her attendance.

Ella had a deep love for fishing and found great joy in serving in children’s ministry. She touched countless lives through her kindness, warmth, and unwavering faith. She maintained cherished relationships with family and friends from all walks of life until the Lord called her home.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory:

Sons: Collington Huie and Neco Huie (Genna)

Daughters: Jaki Williams (Teddy) and Sharon Hope

Sisters: Virginia Baker Allen (James), Barbara Baker Kenyon, Carolyn Baker Gunter, Brenda Baker Johnson, Delois Jones Lawton, Katie Mae Mosby, and Patricia Mosby

Brothers: Willie James Baker, Johnnie Lee Baker, Robert Mosby (Runnette), and Kim Mosby

Sister-in-law: Novelette Smith

Niece: Kenesha Jones

Along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by J.C. Baker, Dudley Baker Mosby, Gloria Shumon, and Secrine Bess.

Ella’s life was a testament to faith, love, and service. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.

There will be a Visitation at Haisley Funeral and Cremation Service located at 3015 Okeechobee Road, Ft. Pierce, FL 34947 on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at 5:00 pm and a Service will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026 at 11:00 am.
