Francia Elena Galindez Perlaza

Francia Elena Galindez Perlaza, age 50, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026, in Port St. Lucie, Florida. She was born on January 26, 1976, in Cali, Colombia.

Elena was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose love for her family defined her life. She is survived by her beloved husband, Mauricio Amaya; her daughters, Mayra Solarte, Mariana Solarte, and Julianna Wood-Galindez; her son, Joseph Wood-Galindez; and her cherished granddaughters, Elena and Everly Solari, all of Port St. Lucie, Florida. She took immense pride in being a grandmother and found deep joy in welcoming her twin granddaughters into the world.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edgar Galindez, and her sister, Maria Etty Galindez.

Elena was an active and faithful member of Iglesia Príncipe de Paz, where she found community, strength, and spiritual fulfillment. A devoted Christian, her faith guided her throughout her life and was especially evident during her courageous journey as a breast cancer warrior since 2016.

She had a deep love for nature and the outdoors, often described affectionately as a “tree hugger.” Elena found peace and happiness among animals, greenery, and God’s creation. In her free time, she enjoyed participating in church groups and sharing fellowship with others.

Elena will be remembered for her kind heart, her resilience, her unwavering faith, and her boundless love for her family. Her presence brought warmth and comfort to those around her, and her memory will live on in the lives she touched.

A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered.
