Eileen P. Ricci, a fierce, loving, and unforgettable presence in the lives of all who knew her, passed away on August 19, 2025, at the age of 78, after five courageous battles with cancer. Born on August 4, 1947, in Yonkers, New York, Eileen lived a life defined by resilience, love, and a deep devotion to her family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Salvatore Ricci, who passed in July 2021. Their marriage was a true partnership, built on love, laughter, and unshakable support.
Eileen is survived by her devoted daughter, Sherri Ricci Isenhour, and the best son-in-law Thad, who Eileen considered a son in every way. She also leaves behind seven cherished grandchildren: Kerrie Considine, Jessica and Gorkem Gurbuz, Anastasia Ricci, Stephen Ricci, Kaitlynn Ricci, and Macayla Ricci Reynolds, along with seven beautiful great-grandchildren: Arianna, Elizabeth (Elsie), Mira, Alara, Arya, Aleena, and Roman. Her home was always filled with their laughter, stories, and the warmth only a grandmother could provide.
Eileen’s family extended beyond people. She also leaves behind her deeply cherished dog, Lucky; “grand dog”, Evie; and four “great-grand pets”: Juliette, Pac, Tigger, and Mucca, each of whom brought her comfort and joy.
She is also survived by her brother, Harry Horetz, and sister-in-law Glo Horetz; her brothers-in-law Frank Ricci and Ed Ricci; Eileen Ricci; and a wide circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Through every trial, including multiple cancer diagnoses, Eileen never lost her strength, her spirit, or her radiant positivity. She loved deeply, laughed often, and held her family close, even in the hardest moments. She fought with grace and grit, never letting illness define her.
Eileen will be remembered not only for her perseverance but for the joy she brought into every room and the fierce love she gave without hesitation. Her memory lives on in every story shared, in every family gathering, and in the hearts of those lucky enough to know her.
She is forever missed. She is never not thought of.
