Dorless Roberts, 85, of Fort Pierce, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Dorless was born on August 13, 1941, in Pearson, Georgia, to the late Alton Roberts and Thelma Joiner Carter. He was the owner and operator of Roberts Trucking in Fort Pierce for 40 years. A truly honest and hardworking man, Dorless took great pride in his work and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Dorless loved his family deeply and was especially protective of those he loved. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, working in his yard, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, spending time with his family—especially his grandchildren—and taking care of his beloved old dog, JoJo.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Phyllis Potter Roberts; daughter, Anita Dean; son, Bo Roberts (Cathy), all of Fort Pierce, FL; daughters, Lynn Slone (Rick) of Okeechobee, FL, and Renee Surrency (Steve) of Fort Pierce, FL. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Lacey Buxton (Tim) of Fort Pierce, FL; Josh Roberts (Tessa) of Reading, PA; Cody Slone (Laura) of Okeechobee, FL; Shane Surrency and Colton Surrency (Kayla), both of Fort Pierce, FL; great-grandchildren, Dean and Sadie Buxton, Logan Roberts, and Wyatt and Layla Slone; and sister, Shelba McCall.

Dorless was preceded in death by his parents, Alton Roberts and Thelma Joiner Carter; sister, Ann Stuart; and son-in-law, Ricky Dean.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Haisley Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the service begins at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at White City Cemetery.
