Daniel W. Donaldson

Daniel W. Donaldson passed away on Friday, December 23, 2022, after a health battle stemming from exposure to the chemical agent orange while serving in the Marines during the Vietnam war. He passed away in the comfort of his loving family.

Dan was born on October 2, 1949, to the late Wesley and Antionette D'Angelo Donaldson in Utica New York. After graduating from high school, he joined the U.S Marine Corps, and served during the Vietnam Vet and was discharged honorably when his tour was done. Dan went on to provide for his community for 20 years as a Firefighter for in Utica, N.Y.

Dan loved to watch sports, especially baseball and football. He regularly attended Yankee games with Patti. He also enjoyed playing golf whenever possible with his good friend, John Pietrantuono.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Patti, daughter Nicole and son in law Dano Rios, sons Daniel Jr (Natalie) Donaldson and David (Malar) Donaldson. He is also survived by his nephew Anthony Donaldson, who was like a son to him. In addition, he is survived by his five grandsons who he shared a close bond with and were his sous-chefs in the kitchen during the holidays, Jakob, Joseph, and Joshua Rios and Nicolas and Daniel Donaldson III. Dan’s family would like to make special mention to April Mendez.
Additionally, Dan leaves behind his Aunt Rita Fumarola, cousins, John Russo, Jimmy Stevens, and Carm Reymer. Furthermore, he leaves his in-laws, Bernadette Leone, Michael and Denice Leone, Joe and Mary Leone, and Angela and Joe Ming as well as many nieces and nephews to remember him fondly. He was predeceased by his parents, Wesley and Antionette and his brother, Anthony and in-laws Joseph and Angie Leone.
