Obituary

Crystene Lenore Corrin, a resident of Port St. Lucie, Florida, departed this life on April 11, 2026, for the greatest adventure that she could imagine - eternal life, and finally meeting her Guardian Angel whom she named Frank.

Crysie was born in Anaheim, California, on August 13, 1948 to Marie Lenore and Roger Elroy Corrin. She was predeceased by her sister, Sharon Marie Corrin, and is survived by her sister Carol Rae Corrin, and her dear friends and caregivers Laura and RG McFarland.

Her career at Indian River Community College (IRCC), now Indian River State College, spanned decades; her leadership position in the School of Cosmetology touched and influenced generations of students and her passion, creativity, and teaching excellence received many accolades from students, faculty, and administration.

Her zest for life was evident in Crysie’s insatiable desire for the next “adventure.” She saw life as a gift to be fully lived with joy, laughter, generosity, gratitude, and faith. Her enthusiasm was only outdone by her compassion. Her energy and spirit were palpable and precious gifts to all who knew her.

Crysie’s faith was foundational to her living. Her life reflected her deep faith in the dignity of every person and One who created every person and the world she enjoyed with such delight. She was a fierce advocate for those on the margins and believed, in the end, love would win. Her passing during the Octave of Easter was an apt punctuation to her life of faith in resurrection and new life when this chapter of her pilgrimage was finished.

The famous quote attributed to the French Jesuit priest and philosopher Pierre Tielhard de Chardin sums up Crysie’s life: “Joy is the infallible sign of the presence of God." Crysie showed many people the face and heart of God through her joy, her distinct laughter, and through the many untold and unknown good works that preceded her into Eternal Life. Her life was an invitation to find joy and be the living presence of God in this world. That is her legacy and our challenge.

In your charity, please offer a prayer for the repose of Crysie’s soul, and a prayer for those who have no one to pray for them. She would like that.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church 350 NW California Blvd, Port St. Lucie, FL. May 9th, 2026, at 12:00 P.M.

We are in the process of planning a Celebration of Life that will take place after the Funeral Mass. An Inurnment will be at Riverview Memorial Park, Fort Pierce, FL. at a later date.
