Cherylann Donghia Cook, 79, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Cheryl was born on May 18, 1946, in Lindenhurst, New York, to Mario “Lawrence” Donghia and Mary Croce Donghia. She was raised with strong family values that remained at the heart of her life. On May 20, 1978, she married the love of her life, Richard Cook, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned 48 wonderful years.

Cheryl is survived by her beloved husband, Richard Cook; her children, Victor Clinco (Wendy), Tracy Lippard (Duane), and her nephew and foster son, Rocky Donghia. She also leaves behind her brothers, Larry Donghia (Renate), Fred Donghia (MaryEllen), and Michael Donghia; her cherished grandchildren, Anthony Clinco, Sebastian Lippard, Greyson Lippard, Tim Donghia, Gabriel Donghia, Evie Donghia, and Ethan Donghia; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Braelyn Clinco and Ledger Clinco.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Mary Donghia, who later made their home in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Cheryl was an alumnus of Hicksville High School class of 1964 and enjoyed keeping in touch with old friends through social media. Cheryl attended the Wilfred Academy Beauty School, where she pursued her passion for cosmetology. After completing her training, she went on to become an instructor for several years, sharing her knowledge and talent with others. Following her move to Florida in 1979, Cheryl built a long and fulfilling career as a hairdresser in Vero Beach, serving her clients for nearly 40 years before retiring in 2015. Many knew her not only for her skill, but for her warmth, kindness, and genuine care for those who sat in her chair.

Beyond her career, Cheryl had a natural gift for painting, interior design, and decorating. Her creativity and eye for beauty were evident in everything she touched, especially her home, which reflected her love for family and her artistic spirit. She had a huge heart for her pets and treated them like her children.

A celebration of Cheryl’s life will be held at a later date. Details will be shared with family and friends once arrangements are finalized.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations may be made in Cheryl’s memory to the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach, in gratitude for the extraordinary care and compassion they provided during this difficult time.
