Charles "Chuck" Gerard Heinold

August 5, 1962 — October 18, 2025

Fort Pierce

Charles “Chuck” Gerard Heinold, 63, passed away peacefully at home in Fort Pierce, Florida on October 18, 2025.

Chuck was born on August 5, 1962, in Red Bank, New Jersey, to Charles W. Heinold Jr. and Anna Mae McMullan Heinold. He moved to Florida as a child and graduated from Fort Pierce Central High School in 1980 — Go Cobras!

On August 4, 2024, Chuck married the love of his life, Lisa Sahl, and together they shared a wonderful life filled with laughter, adventures, and deep companionship.

Chuck dedicated much of his adult life to public service, working as a correctional officer. He served a decade with the State of Florida at Big Pine Key and later with the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Department, where he retired in 2010.

Chuck’s life was rich with hobbies, friendships, and family. As a young boy, he could often be found at Sportsman’s Park in Port St. Lucie, where he played Little League and Babe Ruth baseball, Pop Warner football, and any other sport the Optimist Club introduced. He was also proud to have been both a Cub Scout and a Boy Scout.

Throughout his life, Chuck enjoyed NASCAR, hunting, and “clay life” shooting activities. He was an active participant in the First Responder Games and loved amusement parks — especially Disney World. He also cherished cruises, playing cards and dominoes, and trying his luck at the casino.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa Sahl Heinold of Fort Pierce, FL; his sister Mary and her husband Edward Guinn of Cleveland, GA; sister-in-law Karen Sahl; special niece Shanna Zichgraf of Delaware; several nieces, nephews, and his Aunt Kathleen Guinnessey of Red Bank, NJ; along with a vast network of cousins, extended family, and dear friends — including his lifelong friend Gary Hollett — all of whom will miss him dearly.

Chuck was predeceased by his parents, Charles W. Heinold Jr. and Anna Mae McMullan Heinold; paternal grandparents, Charles W. Heinold Sr. and Agnes Koegel Heinold; and maternal grandparents, John and Mary O’Malley McMullan.

A gathering will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025 from 3:00-4:00 PM with a memorial service to follow at 4:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce. In Lieu of flowers, please make donations to American Cancer Society.
