Carolyn F. Tobias

July 6, 1946 — September 26, 2025

Port Saint Lucie

Carolyn Frances (Cuthbert) Tobias, of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, passed away on September 26, 2025, at the age of 79, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Carolyn was born on July 6, 1946, in New York City. Her family later lived in North Carolina before moving to Denton, Texas. Carolyn received a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from North Texas State University and taught grade school music in the Dallas Public School System immediately after graduation. She later taught in two different Christian schools in the Omaha, Nebraska area. She was a dedicated and engaging teacher whose passion was not just to increase children’s knowledge, but also to help guide them in the way they should live.

Throughout her lifetime, Carolyn was defined by her love for and devotion to Jesus, her husband, her children and grandchildren, and all those among whom the Lord had set her or sent her. She loved and cared deeply for those close to her, but she also noticed and cared about the many others around her who often went unseen.

Carolyn had a unique ability to turn any dwelling place, anywhere in the world, into a warm, comfortable, and inviting home. Because of her love for the Lord and His Word, Carolyn enjoyed being part of women’s Bible studies and prayer groups for many years. She was a dedicated student of the Bible, a teacher and trainer of the Word, and a joy-filled encourager to all who knew her.

Carolyn is survived by her grateful husband of 58 years, Jerry Tobias; her children, Melissa Tobias and Matthew Tobias; and her grandchildren, Alana, Callum, and Eden. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Evelyn Cuthbert, and by her brother, Fred Cuthbert.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Haisley Tribute Center, 2041 Southwest Bayshore Boulevard, Port Saint Lucie, Florida, on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. All who knew and loved Carolyn are warmly invited to join in honoring her life and the kindness she so freely shared with others.
