Carol Grogan, 73, of Port St. Lucie, FL passed away January 14, 2024 at her home.

Carol was born on October 7, 1950 in Boonsboro Maryland to Elmer S Campbell and Virginia D. (Campbell) McMaster.  Born the youngest of 7 siblings of which were 5 brothers and one sister. She is survived by her loving husband Rick Auxier, and her dearly Loved sons Jeremy (Dana), Jesse (Betty Jo), stepson Wayne Auxier (Christy).  8 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.  Sister Patsy McAfee,( Bill)  brothers Frank Campbell, Kenneth Campbell( Pat ).  Proceeded in death are her parents and brothers Tom Campbell, Terry Campbell  both from Hagerstown, MD and Robert Campbell  from the easter shores of Virginia.

 Carol was a graduate of South Hagerstown High School the class of 1968.  She attended Mamie Scotts Beauty Academy in 1969 and graduated with her managers licenses, worked as hair stylist for 5 years, before starting her family and was a stay-at-home mother to her sons, for 5 years.  Then she started working at Central Dodge in Hagerstown Maryland and little did she know that it was a beginning to a long career in the Automotive Industry.  The journey working in many different positions in the dealerships from cashier to Assistant Service Manager to Service Management/Director.  Having been awarded into the American Toyota Service & Parts Excellence Society.  She worked in the automotive field for over 35 years in which during her stint in Management had been awarded numerous accommodations and trips for achieving the manufacture high standards

Carol attended Montgomery Community College in Maryland and Indian River State College in Ft. Pierce Florida.  She did take a 6 year hiatus from the automotive industry and went back to school at the age of 50 to get her CDA Certification and her Directorship Certification for Childhood Early Learning, becoming the Director of St. Andrew Christian Academy for 6 years.  But as anyone in the auto industry will tell once it is in your blood it is hard to stay away.  She spent 9 ½ years working with the Dynatron Software Corporation, as a Service Development Specialist, before her retirement in August of 2021.

Carol was brought up as a Lutheran and has always stayed a Lutheran no matter where she lived and served on the church counsels and taught Sunday School and Chaired many committees and Sunday School Superintendent, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hagerstown, Maryland.  Carol was an Alumni  of the Hagerstown Jaycee’s (Hagerstown, Maryland Junior of Commerce) where she Chaired numerous Events for Fundraising for the Community.   At St Andrew Lutheran Church, she has served on Church Council and been a member of the choir, chaired the Fellowship Community, the Outreach Community, taught Sunday School and was part of The Crafter Group making crafts to sale at the Ladies Rummage Sales.  At St. Andrew’s under the direction of Pastor Bob Carey, she trained to be a Stephen’s Ministry, where she was able to be a care giver and trained as a Eucharistic Minster to give Communion to the shut-ins.  

Carol’s family was very important to her, the many vacations with her children and some included her parents. Having family dinners and celebrations of birthdays and of course the Holidays, Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinners at our home.  Family is the heart and soul of our very being!  Visiting her family in Maryland was an important part of Carol’s life.  She enjoyed traveling, some destinations were Toyoko, Japan, St. Martin, St. Thomas Virgin islands, Bermuda, Hawaii, and numerous cruises to Mexico and the Bahamas, as well as all of the road trips she would venture on with family and friends.

The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away.  Blessed be the name of the Lord!

A memorial gathering will be held on February 6, 2024 starting at 4PM at St. Andrew Lutheran Church 295 NW Prima Vista Blvd, Port St. Lucie, FL 34983.
