Bryan Robert Jessup, 75, of North Hutchinson Island, was called into the arms of our Lord on July 20, 2026, following a brief hospitalization. Bryan was a kind, caring and gentle soul who was devoted to God, his family and his friends. He had a special appreciation of efficiency and spreadsheets, always a source of chuckles with his family.

Bryan was born December 11, 1950, in Dowagiac, MI, the son of Robert and Norma (Glass) Jessup. They preceded him in death.

Bryan and his wife Kathy’s journey of love began in high school and continued during their years at Hillsdale College, where they graduated in 1973. They were married on December 30, 1972, at Holy Maternity of Mary Catholic Church, Dowagiac.

He was employed in banking before joining his father’s business for a brief time prior to his father’s death. Bryan worked 11 years in production control & planning at General Motor’s Hydra-matic Division, Three Rivers, MI, followed by 20 years as a software training consultant. He earned a master’s degree in management from Nazareth College, Kalamazoo, MI, in 1989.

Bryan and Kathy spent most of their married life in Sturgis, MI where they raised three children and were active members of St. Clare Catholic Church, Centreville. Bryan was a member of the Centreville Board of Education for a number of years, including several terms as board president.

They decided to leave their home in Sturgis and become “snow birds” between Cadillac, MI and North Hutchinson Island, FL in 2017, soon deciding to be permanent residents on the island.

He was an active member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church, Fort Pierce, where he and Kathy served as Eucharistic ministers and Bryan was part of a team of weekly offering counters.

Bryan loved to travel, including to many locations in Europe, Egypt, Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and all 50 states. Bryan could be counted on for never getting lost, possessing an uncanny sense of direction.

Most of all, Bryan loved God and was a wonderful model of love, faith, understanding, patience and wise counsel for his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Kneller) Jessup, of North Hutchinson Island; three children, David (Whitney) Jessup, of Mason, MI; Matthew (fiance Kristy Aho), of Kettle River, MN; and Meredith Jessup, of Vero Beach, FL. Also grandchildren, Brysen Jessup, of Kalamazoo, MI; Portia Jessup Cook, Jack David and Wrenley Elizabeth Jessup, of Mason, MI. Also surviving is one brother, Charles Jessup, of The Villages, FL. Two sisters, Carolyn Jessup and Jody Corey, preceded him in death.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be directed to St. Anastasia Catholic Church, Fort Pierce, for the celebration of Masses honoring Bryan.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at 10:00 AM at St. Anastasia Catholic Church, Fort Pierce. Burial will follow at White City Cemetery.
