Beverly Ann McLeod

January 24, 1938 — December 1, 2023

Port St. Lucie

Beverly Ann McLeod, 85, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2023 at Treasure Coast Hospice in Ft. Pierce, Florida.  Beverly was born in Peoria, Illinois on January 24, 1938.  In 1962, while in nursing school, Beverly met and married Charles Pace McLeod of Mobile, Alabama.

Shortly thereafter the couple moved to Stuart, Florida where they reared three children and resided for nearly twenty five years. Keeping her children close, Beverly took a job as secretary at J D Parker Elementary School.  Her gifts for nurturing  people and bringing order to chaos kept her busy there for 12 years.  She was an active member of The Junior Women’s Club and her voice for God could be heard in the choir of First United Methodist Church.

Later in life Beverly returned to her nursing studies and after obtaining her LPN license, she and Charles returned to his home state of Alabama.  They settled in the small community of Alexander City where they were active in song and service with several local Methodist churches.  Beverly also continued her care for others as a nurse at Chapman’s Nursing Home.

In 2020 Beverly came back to the Treasure Coast and in her final years enjoyed participating in the activities at Wickshire Assisted Living.  She took great pride in being selected to be an ambassador in welcoming new residents.

Beverly’s quick wit, compassion, and boundless energy will be missed by all those near and dear.

Beverly is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Charles McLeod, and twin sisters Jean Durham and Jane Wills, both of Pontiac, Illinois.  She is survived by one son, Michael McLeod (spouse Kim) of Robards, Kentucky and two daughters, Kathleen Vogt  (spouse Michael) of Port St. Lucie, Florida and Patricia McLeod, of Lake Bay, Washington.   She had four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

The family requests that gestures of memorial be directed to the Treasure Coast Hospice at https://www.treasurehealth.org/292/Donate.
