Betsysusan Blethen Currie

Betsysusan Blethen Currie passed away on June 26, 2026 peacefully in the company of her family.

She was youngest of 3 daughters born to Otis Blethan and Clara Getchel in Plainville, Conn. She lived a life full of adventure, creativity and gratitude. She was a Yale graduate and on the original Respiratory therapists (1968). She served her church and community in many different roles: volunteer firefighter, entrepreneur, foster parent, adoptive parent, school nurse, real estate investor, insurance agent, friend, mother, prayer warrior, counselor, nature lover, teacher, storyteller and artist. She always had a smile and adventure to embark on making daily activities an event!

She is survived by her children, Kathryn Hice, Thomas Hayes, Cynthiaann Hurst, Marianne Wyckoff, Bryce Currie, Bryan Currie and Richard Currie; numerous nieces, nephews, grand and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her 3 husbands, Thomas Hayes, Henry Wyckoff, and Leroy Currie and one son, Jamie Currie, both parents and both of her sisters.

In honor of her memory consider planting a tree or rose bush.
