Annette Solimeno
Annette was the life of the party, from planning every over-the-top purple decoration to leading the conga line. She often reflected about her best years spent dancing with friends at discos. Friends were her family, and she was devoted to their well-being. She took care of everyone, welcoming strangers into her home until they could get back on their feet. She learned much about life from her beloved Nanny, often quoting aloud the wisdom that had been passed down.
Annette adored Jesus and the Blessed Mother, but was especially devout to St. Anthony, often calling on his intercession or leaving flowers by his statue in church. She treated each and every Godchild as precious gifts from above. Her love language was gift-giving, and whether she shopped at a boutique on Steinway Street or the local dollar store, you were sure to receive something from her heart.
Annette had a special love for Hawaii even though she never got to visit in person. One bedroom of her Florida home was decorated with palm trees and grass skirts. She was incredibly original, and her larger than life creations made everyone smile. She brought the fun to the mundane, and then she needed a long nap.
Annette’s own children were the kind with fur. Tanya, Roxy and Skylar were spoiled with treats and stuffed animals.
Annette leaves behind her loving husband, John, his sisters Phyllis and Marianne, and countless adoring nieces, nephews and cousins.
