Albert James Lenz

October 10, 1949 — January 27, 2026

Port St. Lucie

Albert James Lenz, born October 10, 1949, in Trenton, New Jersey, passed away on January 27, 2026, in West Palm Beach, Florida. Albert—known to many as Al, Jay, or Albert—was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. On May 29, 1971, he married the love of his life, Jeanne Marie Amenta Lenz, and together they built a life rooted in family, hard work, and shared adventures.

Albert is survived by his beloved wife, Jeanne; his son, Brian Lenz, and daughter-in-law, Keri Lenz, of Basking Ridge, New Jersey; and his daughter, Larissa Lenz Smallwood, and son-in-law, Walter Smallwood, of Tuckerton, New Jersey. He was a proud grandfather to Maddox and Alexandra Lenz, Robert Tenney, Tyler Tenney, and David Smallwood, all of whom brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his sister, Carol Lee Wright. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Kathy Alice Weidner and Marilyn Dale Ischinger. Albert was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart.

For more than 40 years, Albert worked as a sheet metal mechanic, a journeyman of Local 27 Union out of Trenton, New Jersey, proudly known in the trade as a “tin knocker.” His work ethic and dedication defined his career until he retired and moved from New Jersey to Port St. Lucie, Florida, where he embraced a well-earned retirement. Albert enjoyed life’s simple pleasures and lively pastimes. He loved bowling— commendably rolling a perfect 300 game at Fairless Hills Lanes in Pennsylvania—spending time at the dog and horse races, visiting casinos, boating, fishing, and playing shuffleboard.

Whether surrounded by family or enjoying his favorite hobbies, Albert had a way of making every moment feel full and genuine. The next time you hear a thunderstorm, maybe it’s Al banging away on some ductwork—or knocking down a few pins. You can be sure he’s looking down and smiling. :)

Albert will be remembered for his easygoing outlook on life and the deep joy he found in watching his children and grandchildren flourish. His legacy lives on through his family and the countless memories they will cherish forever.
