William N. Schell

William N. Schell passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2019. Bill was born on February 3, 1927 to Albert and Ruth (Keck) Schell in Baden, PA. He left to join the Navy (USS Lee Fox) when he was seventeen. Afterwards he graduated Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA and then went on to a career with Plunkett-Webster/Eastwood Lumber Co. in Syracuse, NY.

After his retirement in 1989, Bill retired to Meadowood Golf & Tennis Club in Ft. Pierce, FL where he enjoyed many lifelong friendships including, John Evans and Bud Hemmings who were at his side every week until his passing. Bill was an avid golfer and skier, enjoying his time at both Onondaga Country Club, Cazenovia Ski Club and Meadowood.

William Schell is survived by his life partner of 25 years, Meredith F. Kelly. He is also survived by his sons, Robert A. (Lisa) Schell of E. Amherst, NY, and W. Brian (Margaret) Schell of Cary, NC, 10 grandchildren, and his siblings Albert (Dinah) Schell, Mary Musgrave, Suzanne (James) Urda and Carol (John) Collins. He was preceded in death by both parents, brother James Schell and his wife Elizabeth (Anderson) Schell.

Memorial Services will be held this fall in both Ft. Pierce and Syracuse. Memorial contributions may be made to Vero Beach Community Church, 1901 23rd Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960 or to Treasure Coast Hospice House, 5000 Dunn Road, Ft. Pierce, FL 34981.

The family will hold a Celebration of his life on Saturday October 5, 2019 at Onondaga Country Club 1 pm-4pm. Friends and Family are welcome!
