William J Griffith, 90 of Fort Pierce, Florida died July 5, 2019 at Grace Rehab in Vero Beach, Florida
Bill was born on January 21, 1929 to Jack and Winifred Griffith in Buffalo, NY. He was raised and lived in southern Michigan until his retirement from Firestone Tire and Rubber Company and a Regional District Manager for MI, OH, IL, WI, and KY.
Upon retirement Bill moved to Florida. He was a 25 year member of the Fort Pierce Elks. He served as president of his condo association. Bill volunteered for many years at Fairwinds Golf Course. He was also a Kentucky Colonel, a commission given by the state of KY for public service. Bill’s hobbies included golfing, fishing, boating, swimming and taking long beach walks. He enjoyed helping his neighbors with handyman projects.
William is survived by his first wife, Jeanne Griffith of Harrisville, MI; daughter, Susan Calder of Harrisville, Mi; grandson, William Calder (Dannielle); great-grandsons, Garrett and Gavin Calder of Gibraltar, MI and brother, Bert Griffith (Darlene) of Lincoln Park, MI. Bill enjoyed his many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
William was preceded in death by his parents, second wife, Marilyn Griffith, brother, Donald, sisters, Beverly and Joan and his beloved son-in-law, Gordon Calder.
