Wayne Patrick Hughes, 73, of Atlantic Beach Boulevard, Hutchinson Island, Florida, died January 13, 2022, at Poinciana Medical Center in Poinciana, FL. Mr. Hughes was born Jan. 5, 1949, in Cambridge, Mass., son of the late John Stanley and Louise Catherine (Marques) Hughes. He is survived by his wife of 39 years Eileen Miriam (Hosty) Hughes of Hutchinson Island. He was predeceased by brothers, John Stanley Hughes and Joel Stanley Hughes. Besides his wife, survivors include a son, Wayne Patrick Hughes Jr. of Concord, NH; a daughter, Pamela Christine (Hughes) Riesenberg and her husband Jayson of Salem, NH; a son, Joseph Charles Glennon III and his wife Laura of Port St. Lucie, FL ; 5 grandsons, Michael Kissling of Albany, NY, Wayne Patrick (Buddy) Hughes III and his wife Dakota of Warner, NH, Taylor Scott Hughes of Auburn NH, Cameron Reilly Hughes of Penacook, NH, Colin Joseph Glennon of Port Saint Lucie, FL; 1 granddaughter, Kayla Alyse Glennon of Port Saint Lucie, FL; 2 brothers and 4 sisters-in-law, Daniel and Cheryl Hughes of Lynnfield, MA, Lawrence and Dianne Hughes of Naples, FL, Mary Hughes of Billerica, MA, Mary Ann Hughes of Cumberland, RI; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Hughes had a long successful career as the owner of a branch of United Van Lines, which he retired from in 2002. He was well respected by all those who worked beside him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or a charity of your choice. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 24, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Anastasia Catholic Church, Fort Pierce. Burial will follow at White City Cemetery.
