Virginia Wright Gilmore, born May 12, 1931 passed this life on April 11, 2020. She moved to Fort Pierce, FL in the late 1950’s and as of recent had been a resident of Port St. Lucie Rehabilitation and Healthcare for the past several years. Mrs. Gilmore is survived by her husband of 69 years, George Edward Gilmore and their 3 children, Dale Edward Gilmore (Carmen), Dr. Kenneth David Gilmore (Kerri), and Susan Gilmore Ruff (Eddie); 7 grandchildren Justine Hall, Jake Gilmore (Danielle), Robert Hall (Roxanne), Kyle Gilmore, Kohl Gilmore, Cody Ruff, and Kerrigan Gilmore; 3 great-grandchildren, Eli Hall, Parker Hall, Saylor Wells. She is also survived by her brother Loyd Wright of Birmingham, AL and predeceased by her other 6 siblings, Ruth Johnson, Jack Wright, William Wright, Otis Wright, Gaston Wright, and Carol Bailey.

Mrs. Gilmore lived a full life as a devoted wife, wonderful mother, homemaker and worked as an Optician outside the home. She loved to cook, sew, and served in the choir for many years. Her talent for music was a blessing to all that heard her sing and play piano. She sang in perfect harmony and played piano by ear. Throughout their marriage, one of Mr. and Mrs. Gilmore’s favorite past times included traveling together in their Airstream throughout the country and visiting their property in Crossville, TN.

She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. At a later date, there will be a celebration of life for family and friends.

Matthew 11:28-30
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

John 14:1-3
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”
