Shirley T. Christy, 80, of Surfside Beach passed December 24, 2021 at her Port St. Lucie, Florida residence.
Born April 12, 1941 in Sligo, PA; she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Margaret Tremba of Rimersburg, PA and the wife of Bert Christy. She graduated from Union Joint High School in Rimersburg, PA.
Shirley entered the workforce after her children were in high school, she worked at Ivey’s in Charlotte, NC and Butler’s Electrical Supply in Myrtle Beach, SC. Shirley enjoyed working with Jason’s House program for children with cancer and other programs of Surfside United Methodist Church.
She loved her animals and gardening. Shirley and Bert were married in the Sanctuary of the United Christ in Rimersburg, PA on December 25, 1958.
Shirley was the beloved wife of Bert; devoted mother of her late children, David Christy and Dawn Williams. She was a loving grandmother of Jason Christy and Christopher (Brittany) Williams.
She is also survived by her sister, Vicki and husband, Chuck Buchanan and nephew, Anthony all of Port St. Lucie, FL; and sister, Kathy and husband, Bill Franks and niece, Angelina all of Jupiter, FL.
She was preceded by her brother, Terry L. Tremba.
Memorial donations may be made in her honor to Jason’s House C/O Surfside United Methodist Church 800 13th Avenue North Surfside Beach, SC 29575.
