Robert “Bob” J. DeSalvio, 93, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2022 in Vero Beach, Florida.
Bob was born in Little Italy, New York and upon retirement from NYPD he moved to Fort Pierce, Florida in 1990.
Bob graduated from Brooklyn, New York high school and was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a Captain of the NYPD, serving for 32 years.
He was born again at the age 90 at the Faith Baptist Church. He enjoyed a quiet life spent with family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing, playing tennis, golfing, and spending time at the lake. Bob was the cool breeze, calm in the storm, and everyone’s go-to guy.
Survivors include his beloved children, Theresa DeSalvio-Muccia, Barbara Swinick, Joseph DeSalvio and Lorraine DeSalvio; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen C. DeSalvio, parents, Edward & Amelia DeSalvio and brother, Salvatore DeSalvio.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce.
