Richard J. Calkins passed away on November 16, 2021 at his home in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Rick was born in Elmira, New York on February 5, 1947 to John “Donn” and Edna Calkins.
He graduated from Canton High School in Canton, Pennsylvania. Then served with the U.S. Army and furthered his education by graduating from Williamsport Community College in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
He was predeceased by his wife of 40 years, Dawn Dunbar Calkins on October 4, 2021. Also predeceased by his parents, 4 brothers, Gail, Gerald, John and Rodger Calkins and sister, Marlene Vermilya.
Survived by daughter Jamie Calkins of Sebastian, FL; sister, Dee Dee Brown of Lake Wales, FL; 3 sisters-in-law, Norma Calkins, Anne Calkins, and Phyllis Calkins; and many nieces and nephews and a special nephew, Thomas Brown.
Per Rick’s wishes, no services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce. Burial will be by his wife at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Cape Canaveral, Florida.
