Peter Joseph Cervone Sr

Peter Joseph Cervone Sr., age 93, from Austintown, Ohio, peacefully passed away on June 13, 2018 at his home in Florida with family by his side. Pete was born on June 7, 1925 in Niles, Ohio to Louise & Louis Cervone.

Pete was a World War II Veteran. He retired from US Steel Corporation and was a lifetime member of the International Union of engineers. He was a great sportsman and enjoyed football, baseball, golf, fishing, hunting, boxing, and bocce ball.

He and his beloved wife Helen were restaurateurs and owned and operated the Shrimp Haven in Niles, Ohio, as well as Cervone's Austin Manor in Austintown, Ohio for many years and loved entertaining.

He was best known for his singing; he sang all over the world. At age 72 and again at age 80, he recorded CDs of his favorite songs. One of his most memorable performances was when he sang the Star Spangled Banner at the White House. He was honored and thrilled to sing at weddings especially for his children and grandchildren. Pete sang at countless other special occasions including many charity events. He had a dynamic powerful singing voice, and loved to rhyme and make people laugh with his many jokes.

He was a member of the American Legion Florida and several other organizations over his lifetime. He supported and enjoyed campaigning for his friends in politics, and supported many charities.

Survivors include; children: Carol Infante of Florida; Roe Carrino (Joe) of California; Lou Cervone of Ohio; and Pete Cervone Jr. (Shelly) of Florida; grandchildren: Marc Infante (Gina); Gina Marie Infante; Lyndsey Parker (Robert); Nicolette Cervone; and Santino Cervone; great-Grandchildren: Andrew Parker; Marina Infante; Katelyn Parker; sisters: Pat Bonanno and Rose Sarno (Dominic) of Niles, Ohio; Sister-in-law: Des Puhak of Howland, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen, who passed away in 1994; sister Antonette “Toni” Landolfi; and granddaughter, Lauren Cervone.

Pete lived an amazing life and his passion for singing and entertaining brought great joy to many. His personality was larger than life and he will remain in our hearts forever.
