Marie F. Hogya, 83, passed away on May 1, 2022 in Ft. Pierce, Florida. Born on 3/13/1939 in Painesville, Ohio. Marie attended St. Mary's Catholic School and graduated from Harvey High School in Painesville, Ohio where she began to raise her four children. Marie moved to Belpre, Ohio to manage Perkins Pancake & Steak House in Parkersburg, WV for 12 years. With her Mid-Western strong work ethic, Marie moved to Ft. Pierce City Marina and she continued to follow them to their current location on Seaway Drive. where she was a Dining Room Manager for over 25 years. Marie’s deep dedication and devotion to her Captain’s Galley family made it the hardest decision she had to make when it was time for her to retire. Her warm hospitality of a greeting smile and incredible green eyes is the reason why several customers still ask about her to this day. She helped keep the sacred vessels clean and dress the Altar for Masses as well as redress the Altar for funerals. Marie was predeceased by her Mother, Anna Pearl Preckler & Father, Earl Rogers, her former husband, John “Jack” Hogya, as well as her sister, Margaret Rakowich & nephew, Dennis Horvath. She is survived by her four children Kimberly Martin and her husband, Larry of Belpre, OH, Jeffrey Hogya and his wife, Carol, Deetra Hogya & John Hogya and his wife, Melanie of Ft Pierce, FL.
