Marc A. Verlinger

April 6, 1964 — June 10, 2019

Marc A. Verlinger, 55, of Port Saint Lucie, Florida passed away peacefully on June 10, 2019.

Marc was born on April 6, 1964 in Cornwall, NY. Prior to moving to Florida, he lived in New Mexico, Texas, New York and on and off in Port St. Lucie.

Marc A. Verlinger lived a life few can compare to. People of all ages and walks of life were drawn to his smile and his energy. He touched many, beginning with the friends of his childhood and school aged years in NY. Marc was also able to spend time in MI with family as a boy. He made lifelong friends wherever he lived, with musician friends in NM to fishing buddies in Texas. He was always ready to play music or fish.

Music and Art were his passion and played a huge part in his life. Marc was a top-notch drummer who played with a band of friends everywhere he lived. When a drum set wasn't available, he would just pick up a guitar and sing his heart out. He could play and sing to hundreds of songs. Many memories were made around campfires from NY to FL and everywhere in between.

The Art of MVerl was a lifetime collection of works. The Box of 10,000 Drawings has grown from childhood through his teens and now he added 1000's of painted rocks. Amazing and charming details were in all the vast array of woodworked items. Vivid colors and the flights of fancy of his imagination splash across the canvases of our hearts. Marc was also a published poet in his 30's in addition to all the other talents he had. He was a true modern-day Renaissance Man.

Marc Verlinger went above and beyond most fathers in the level of care, attention, and devotion he had for his children. He was the stay at home parent, totally involved and participating. He spent years as a modeling dad and cheerleading dad. He was also heavily involved for years with the Boy Scouts. His kids Marc, Matt, and Sarah were his pride and joy.

I have never met a man that so many people came to love and appreciate, EVER. Men, women, and children; so many were drawn to the dynamic man he was. Marc A. Verlinger touched the lives of family, friends, and loved ones everywhere he went. He was a special soul, beloved by many, matched by none, and always remembered with Love.

Written by daughter, Sarah Sneed; Our Dad was the Best Dad. From the moment we took our first breath he never left our side. He showed us what it meant to have someone to rely on, someone to guide us to be the people we are today. He taught us how to appreciate the small things in life and to enjoy nature. He loved the sound of the waves and the sand in between his toes. His soul was played through his music and his imagination through his art. He was the man & father that I wished other kids had growing up as a father, because he was everything a father should be and more. Now he is our Angel & I couldn't ask for a better person to watch over us then our father himself. He will be missed tremendously & we will continue to honor him by being exactly what he wanted us to be. May his soul fly free like the Eagle he wished he could be.
