Leona (92) passed on Thursday, September 6th in Fort Pierce, FL. She had moved to Florida to live with her son and daughter-in-law, Al & Donna Rivett, in 2015. Her health began to significantly decline in December 2018 and she resided in a nursing home at the time of her passing. Born in Brady Township on May 28, 1927, Leona had lived in Chesaning, MI for nearly seven decades. She had been the salutatorian of her Chesaning High School graduating class of 1944. She had worked as a secretary for the Peet Packing Plant and as an administrative clerk at the McDonald Dairy. Several times, Leona had won the woman’s club champion at the Twin Brooks Golf Club. She was a 65-year member of Women’s Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 212. Upon her retirement, she volunteered in the ticket office of the Chesaning Showboat.

Leona was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Eugene Rivett, companion and former brother-in-law Harold Schoch, sisters Agnes Gasser, Laura Schoch, and Edna Hildebrandt, and great grandson Bodey Seidl. She is survived by her son Al (Donna) Rivett of Fort Pierce, FL and daughter Marla Rivett of Racine WI, 5 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 from 4:00-6:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce. Burial will take place at Wildwood Cemetery, Chesaning, Michigan.
