April 29, 1954 — September 6, 2020

Joseph “Joey A.” Victor Angelastro

Joseph “Joey A.” Victor Angelastro, 66, passed away September 6, 2020 in Port Saint Lucie, FL.

Joseph was born in Manhattan, NY on April 29, 1954 to Irene Lavis and Joseph Kuroski. He relocated later in life to Sunrise, FL where he met and married the love of his life, Deborah Lynn Zielsdorf, in May of 1989. They spent 24 wonderful years together until Deborah’s passing in 2013.

He was an avid fisherman but specialized in bass fishing. His love for bass fishing eventually became his hobby. He became a lifetime member of Bass Pros “Bass Anglers Sportsman Society” and Sunrise Bass Club in Sunrise, FL. Within the Sunrise Bass Club, he received a first-place trophy for catching the largest bass in the year 1988. In addition to his fishing hobby, he worked for many years as an aviation mechanic and considered himself a “Jack-of-all-trades.” He could fix anything with his mechanic skills.

He loved to sing, dance, and play pool. His favorites were “9-Ball” and “Cutthroat”. He was a member of the VNEA Pool League and the Shea’s In-House Pool League. He could be found enjoying a good laugh over a Busch Light Beer in any crowd and loved to make people laugh!

He attended Grove Church in Port Saint Lucie, FL where he worshipped the Lord and prayed for healing. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with small-cell lung cancer, but he was a fighter and survived what was trying to bring him down. He was in remission for 2 years!

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Ryan Kay of Port Saint Lucie, FL; Son, Lucas Angelastro of Port Saint Lucie, FL; Brothers, Eugene Angelastro Jr., Kip Kuroski, and Keith Kuroski; Sisters, Jorene Ryan, Tina Potter, Kim Miller, and Kordette Kuroski. He was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Angelastro who passed away May 8, 2013. His mother, Irene Angelastro Walsh who passed away February 25, 2004 and his father, Joseph Marion Kuroski who passed away September 22, 2016.

He was a son, a brother, a husband, a father, and a friend to the very end. He will be greatly missed by all his family, friends, and the many people whose lives he touched along his life’s journey.

As a true die-hard Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan would say, GO BUCS! FIRE THE CANNONS!
