Mr. Bals was born in Queens, New York and resided in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Joseph was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and was an Executive at several supermarkets.
Survivors include his wife, Jan Bals of St. Lucie Village, FL; son, Mark (Amanda) Ecker of Sanford, FL; daughters, Christine (John) Simpson of Hamptons, NY, Grace (Frank) Maley of CT and Lisa McCarty of Fort Pierce, FL sister, Grace Bals Seitzer of NJ; grandchildren, David, Candace, Marigrace, Rachel, Thomas, Avé, Mary, and Elizabeth; and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents Joseph and Grace Bals, his son, Joseph Bals and brother, John Bals.
Services: A Rosary Service will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at 6:00 PM at Notre-Dame Mission Catholic Church, Fort Pierce. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 1, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Fort Pierce.
