John Wesley Rothwell Jr

John W. Rothwell, Jr 73, passed away March 17, 2021 in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

John was born on February 27, 1948 in Miami, Florida to John and Clara Rothwell. After graduating from high school, John joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1967 and was active duty for 20 years. From 1987 until his retirement in 2014, he was a U.S. Marine Corps Maritime Pre-Position Contractor. He was a very proud Marine and felt it an honor to serve his country for 47 years.

John loved playing Santa for the community. He loved the joy Christmas brought so much that he would decorate his house every Christmas for all to see.

Survivors include: fiancé, Lynda Dagger of Port St. Lucie, Florida; son, John W. Rothwell, III and daughter-in-law, Wendy; grandchildren, Zoey, Skyler and Logan Rothwell, all of Merritt Island, Florida; daughter, Sandra Burchfield; grandchildren Brooke and Jason Burchfield, all of Merritt Island, Florida; adopted son, Joseph Rothwell and wife, Cristel Rothwell; granddaughter, Camry, all of Jacksonville, Florida; adopted son, Richard Rothwell and granddaughters, Hannah and Teagan all of Fernandina Beach, Florida; twin brother, Thomas Rothwell and sister-in-law, Christian of Garner, North Carolina; sister, Susie Pierce and brother-in-law, Ted of Alva, Florida; in addition to many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by father, John W. Rothwell Sr and mother, Clara Hill of Key Largo, Florida and sister, Barbara Farrell of Monteagle, Tennessee.
