John E. Clark

October 26, 1942 — January 15, 2018

John E. Clark, 75, of Port St. Lucie, passed away peacefully
Monday morning, January 15, 2018, at the Hospice House of the Treasure Coast, Ft. Pierce, FL .

He was born October 26, 1942, in Endicott, NY, the son of the late William and Margaret (Rosevear) Clark. He has been a resident of Port St. Lucie since 2011, coming from Frankfurt, Germany.

John joined the military in 1961 and was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany a few years later. As a young man in his early 20's, John embraced his love for not only the United States of America, but also for guitars and music. He joined a band in Hanau, Germany as the guitarist and played the local hits at various small venues. It was at one of these venues in 1964 where he met his wife of 52 years and mother to his two children.

John and his wife Hannelore enjoyed traveling, both for business and for pleasure, to any places the opportunity presented itself. They rode motorcycles together, with his brother(s), and once John and Hannelore's two sons were old enough, he also rode with them - and loved every minute of it. Needless to say, the love for motorcycles runs in the family!

Prior to his retirement after 32 years of service in the US Army, John served first as an enlisted member for 8 years, then as a Warrant Officer for 24 years, becoming one of the first Master Warrant Officers in the US Army. He served 2 tours of duty in the Vietnam War (the second tour he served in his little brother's stead), as well as 1 tour in Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert Storm. He was last stationed in Hanau, Germany. During his career, he was awarded many medals, awards and citations.

John is survived by his wife of 52 years, Hannelore (Mueller) Clark of Port St. Lucie; sons, John K. Clark (wife: Claudia) of Frankfurt, Germany and Michael W. Clark (wife: Manuela) of Oxnard, CA; grandchildren, Nina M. Clark of Oxnard, CA, Sarah K. Anundson of Seaside, CA, Kyla J. Clark, Nicola L. Clark and Jeremy Clark all of Frankfurt, Germany; brothers, William Clark of Owego, NY and James Clark of West Palm Beach; sisters, Nancy Romeo of Winter Haven and Janice Preston of Endicott, NY; many nieces and nephews.
