James Thomas Metz

March 21, 1972 — March 6, 2022

James “Jimbo” Thomas Metz made his heavenly transition on Sunday, March 06, 2022 in Vero Beach, Florida.

He was born March 31, 1972 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Shortly after birth, he and his family moved to Fort Pierce, Florida in 1972.

He leaves behind his mother, Bonnie Mock of Vero Beach, Florida and his older sibling, Jerry Metz, Jr. of Tequesta, Florida.

James was a student in the St. Lucie County school system, ending at Westwood High School. He enjoyed activities in FFA and won ribbons at the St. Lucie County fair showing his hog and steer entries.
His first fishing experience started at nine months catching rock fish on the Fort Pierce Jetty. Later he helped with the family net fishing business.

He enjoyed outdoor activities with his friends, fishing, hog hunting, Georgia hunting trips, and his airboat.
He was employed by Meltra Trailers in Fort Pierce for 25 years.

He and family share gratitude for the nursing and music care provided by the Visiting Nurses Association in Vero Beach and to the VNA Foundation for special considerations in his care. The family also holds great gratitude for the considerations at Cleveland Clinic Indian River Medical Center, especially all associated in cardiology.

The family asks that any memorial contributions be made to VNA Hospice.

He will be greatly missed by his mom Bonnie and his brother Jerry.
