H.D. "Bud" Savage

February 19, 1949 — September 14, 2020

H.D. "Bud" Savage, age 71, of Rockwall, TX, passed peacefully surrounded by his wife and family on September 14, 2020. He was born on February 19, 1949, in Fort Belvoir, VA, to Thomas Dean Savage and Lois Ruth (Fisher) Savage. He was privileged to live in Arlington National Cemetery the first years of his life where his father was the assistant superintendent. He then moved to Fort Pierce, Florida where he resided until 2013. He served as a dedicated St Lucie County FL Deputy Sheriff for 33 years attaining the rank of Lieutenant. Upon retirement he moved to Texas, where he became an avid Bridge player, playing 3 times per week at the Plano Recreation Center. He never met a stranger and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Bud is survived by his loving wife: Rosemary Savage of Rockwall, TX; sister: Nancy Inola Lipscomb of Gaffney, SC; cousins: Ruth Stewart of El Cajon, CA, David (Belinda) Stewart of Durham, ME, and Jimmy Savage of Cowpens, SC; several nieces and nephews; brothers by heart: Pete Sulik and Danny Kinser; sisters by heart: Kolleen Sulik, Connie Totten Walker and Linda Knight; daughters by heart: Rebecca Freeze and April Trammell; sons by heart: Tim McGuire, Jerry Thacker and Terence Trammell; and most importantly, his grandchildren by heart: Olivia Trammell, Hayden Trammell, Logan Wells, and Gabriel Wells; and many other relatives and dear friends who dearly loved him and became his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Dean Savage and Lois Ruth Savage and his sister, Marjorie Onell Savage.

A Celebration of Life will take place at Haisley Funeral Home. 3015 Okeechobee Road, Fort Pierce, FL, Saturday, November 7th. Gathering at 10:00 am with a Service to follow at 11:00 am.

A Private Inurnment will be held for the family at White City Cemetery at a later time.

Bud’s last wishes were that everyone dress in the Hawaiian Shirts or Patriotic, Red White & Blue. No Black, No Suits and NO Uniforms (unless on Duty) and No tears, only laughter.
