Gladys Lorene Griner Lloyd, 96, passed away on December 10, 2018 in Fort Pierce, Fl.
Gladys was born on February 13, 1922 in Berlin, Georgia, the daughter of Lunza G. Griner and Ethel Hamilton Griner. She was a descendant of the pioneers of South Georgia and moved to Orlando, Florida at the age of two.
It was in Orlando, Florida where she met her future and only husband, Robert L. Lloyd. They were married on March 4, 1939 and immediately thereafter moved to Fort Pierce, Florida where they raised their family. After raising her children, she assisted her husband in their citrus related business and service station.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a faithful Christian who loved her church, family, friends and gardening.
She is survived by her son, Bob and wife Carolyn, daughter, Sherry Lloyd Klueppelberg and husband, Klip. Her grandchildren, Robbie Lloyd, Shellie Lloyd McGuire, Lorene Klueppelberg Percy and E. Jeffrey Klueppelberg. Numerous great grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and sisters-in-laws, Dorothy Griner, Dorothy Teolis, and Mary Weller.
She was pre-deceased by her parents, husband, Robert L. Lloyd, who died on November 5, 1997, and brother, Virgil and sisters, Grace and Louise.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Southside Christian Church, 3822 Edwards Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34981-5221 or to a favorite charity.
A memorial service at Southside Christian Church will be announced at a later date.
