Gerald Foy

April 24, 1958 — February 28, 2020

Gerald Foy, 61, of Port St. Lucie, FL, formerly of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully on February 28th after a valiant battle with cancer.
Jerry was born on April 24th, 1958 to Joseph and Elizabeth in Philadelphia, PA. He was a 1976 graduate of Cinnaminson High School and went on to study information technology. He married his high school sweetheart in 1981. Jerry had a successful lifelong career in IT operations most recently working at LPL Financial where he is remembered as an encouraging mentor.

Jerry was our hero. He had such strength to persevere and an unwavering resilience. He remained always hopeful and determined despite a terminal diagnosis. His most important roles were husband, dad, and Pop-pop. He enjoyed being close to the ocean, playing sports, rooting for Philadelphia teams, and photography. His greatest little love was his granddaughter, Karlie. He was famous for always having answers and solutions and never missing a dessert.

Jerry is predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Cheri; his sisters, Carol Knouse and Kathy (Steve) Hawkins; his brother, John (Pat) Foy; his four children, Jennifer (Christopher) Jonathan (Molly), Jeffrey and Julianne (Chase); and his granddaughter, Karlie.

Private funeral services will be held at a later date. A special thanks to Dr. Katie Alonso for her diligent care and kindness. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Cancer Research Alliance by visiting KCCure.org
