Born January 18th, 1946, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Married to Susan Thomann April 30th, 1983, in Loxahatchee, FL. Passed away September 13th, 2022, under the care of Chapters Hospice in his home in Fort Pierce, FL.

Survived by his Wife Susan Thomann, Daughter Katie Topping, Son in Law Sam Topping and Grandchildren Bianca, Samuel, Anthony, Korbin and Brantley Topping of Fort Pierce, FL, Brother Wayne Thomann of Chapel Hill, NC.

Predeceased by his Father Wayne Thomann, Mother Marion Thomann, Son Tyler Thomann and Sister Dawn Thomann

Gary graduated Seacrest Highschool June of 1964. He served in the US Marines from 1966-1971 achieving the rank of Sargent. He retired from AT&T with 35 years of service in 2008.

Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, diving, golfing, camping and Nascar.

Gary was a strong, loving family man who put family above all else. He had a real passion for hunting and was always willing to share his knowledge with others. Gary had a strong work ethic and believed in making sure things were done the right way. Growing up in Boca Raton he gained his love of diving where he pursued and gained his PADI Dive Master certification. He joined the United States Marine Corp where he achieved the rank of Sargent during his service. Gary would always say “Once a marine always a marine” and he was influential in his grandson Anthony joining the Marine Corp. After his time in the Marine Corp, he pursued a career with the phone company where he served in various roles until his retirement after 35 years of service as a Second level Manager. Gary met his loving wife Susan who was also working for the phone company. During his career with Southern Bell, Bell South and AT&T he achieved many leadership awards for his work. While retired he continued to pursue his hobbies passing on his knowledge to his son in law and grandchildren. Gary will always be remembered as the strong provider, loving family man and protector he was, and his legacy will live on through his family.
