Frederick Fairchild

Frederick John Fairchild, 86, of Port St. Lucie, Florida passed away on July 21, 2022. Fred was born in Norwalk, CT on September 3, 1935.
Frederick married his beloved wife, Ada Reid in 1956. In 1976 they moved from CT to FL where he was a local Electrical Contractor for many years and owned Fairchild Electric, Inc. As a young man, Fred served 4 years active duty in the US Navy. Later he served another 22 years in the Naval Reserve Construction Battalion. He retired from the Naval Reserve in 1995 as a Chief Petty Officer.
Fred loved to travel, especially his trips to visit family in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Canada, and Scotland. For many years he enjoyed the challenge of playing golf. But his greatest joy was spending time with family and friends.
He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 66 years, Ada Reid Fairchild; his daughter & son-in-law Bonnie & Rick Gagliardi of NH; granddaughter & husband Shannon & Rob Laptewicz & great- granddaughter Emma of MA; his son and daughter-in-law Fred & Susie Fairchild of FL; grandchildren David Fairchild; Sarah Fairchild; Stephen Goodman; Miranda Goodman & great-grandson Max; David & Mariann Goodman & great-granddaughter Dahlia.
Service will be private. In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations may be made in his honor to Treasure Coast Hospice at treasurehealth.org
