Esther Morris

Esther Morris, of Port St. Lucie, passed away on March 10, 2020, surrounded by her loving husband and two daughters.

Born on April 12, 1940 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Esther moved to Cape May, New Jersey as a child. Esther owned a motel in South Jersey with her husband until moving to the Florida Keys in 1985. During her time in the Keys, Esther and her husband, John, owned a scooter rental business in Key West and Esther worked on her passion, writing. During those years, she had several books and short-stories published. She later retired to Port St. Lucie, Florida, where she lived close to her two daughters and grandchildren. During retirement, Esther enjoyed sewing and quilting and loved to gift her homemade items to friends and family. She loved to go to her daughter’s farm to watch the horses in her later years and her favorite pastime was watching her youngest grandchild compete in horse shows.

Esther is survived by her husband of 60 years, John E. Morris, her two daughters, Stacey L. Harkcom (Jeff Harkcom) of Fort Pierce, Florida, and Cynthia M. Sellers (John Sellers) of Port St. Lucie, Florida, as well as two grandchildren, David J. Myers, of Palm City, Florida, and Baylie G. Robbins, of Port St. Lucie, as well as step-grandchildren, Tyler Harkcom, Ethan J. Sellers and Caroline R. Sellers, two great-grandchildren, Mary Jane Myers and David J. Myers, Jr., her sister, May Laws of New Jersey, and several loving nieces and nephews.

Esther was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
