Elodie Slay Tabor McCready, 101, passed away on December 1, 2018 in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Mrs. McCready was born in Biloxi, Mississippi and moved to Fort Pierce in 1919 until she married Charles Tabor and they moved to Baltimore then back to Fort Pierce in 1961 when her and her husband opened Chuck’s Seafood. She was a member of the Women of the Moose, Fort Pierce Chapter.
Survivors include her grandsons, Chuck (Vicki) Buchanan of Port St. Lucie, FL and Jeff (Tammi) Buchanan of Fort Pierce, FL; great-grandchildren, Anthony, Caitlin and Rina Buchanan; sisters, Lynette Egers of Fort Pierce, FL and Margaret Ernst of Melbourne, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Chuck” Tabor, second husband, Benjamin McCready and daughter, Dorothy Buchanan.

Services: Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 9, 2018 from 5-7 PM at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 10, 2018 at 10:00 at St. Anastasia Catholic Church, Fort Pierce.
