Ellen L. Post passed away in Sebastian, Florida at the age of 101 on May 11, 2022. Formerly of Newton and Plaistow, New Hampshire, she lived in Fort Pierce, Florida for many years before moving to Sebastian.
Ellen was born in Framingham, Massachusetts, on March 18, 1921 to Edwin L. and Lucy L (Littlefield) Hutchings. As the eldest of 8 children she was predeceased by brothers, Edwin L. Jr., George S., Charles, James and Baby Hutchings. Sisters included Baby Grace and Pauline Hutchings.
Ellen was widowed at a very young age and became a strong role model for her children after the death of their father, Louis J. Tebo. She worked as a tester at the North Andover Western Electric plant and retired from Lucent Technologies.
Several years later Ellen married Winford “Buddy” Post and enjoyed riding on his motorcycle. After being widowed for the second time she started to spend her winters in Florida. Ellen enjoyed crocheting doilies and afghans. She also liked to travel.
Ellen is survived by sons Robert (Claire) of Micco, FL, Gerald (Dot) of West Townsend, MA and daughter Ethel (WT) Shoultz of Fort Pierce, FL. She also leaves her special friend and niece Donna Damphousse of Barrington, NH, and Patty FitzGerald of St. Albans, Maine. Grandchildren include Bradley, Glenn, Keith, Tracy, Craig, Jenny, Cynthia, Stephen, Sharon and Jessica. She leaves 13 great grandchildren and many great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sons Harold, David and Donald Tebo and daughter Ruth Ann Tebo.
The Family would like to extend gratitude to the staff and friends at Pelican Garden Assisted Living Facility for the loving care bestowed on Ellen’s behalf.
There will be no services. Contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Hospital.
