Dianne L. Perry, 73, peacefully passed away on August 31, 2020 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
She was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota and was a longtime resident of Fort Pierce, Florida.
Dianne put her heart and soul into every endeavor she pursued. Her sharp intelligence, keen intuition and kindhearted natured poured over into every aspect of her life. She took great care of her husband of 54 years Paul Sr. and two children, Paula and Paul, whom she lovingly referred to as “Walla and Jr.” Her family and heart grew with the arrival of her treasured grandchildren Madi, Will, and Lucas. She showered them with unconditional love- and all the toys and treats they could want. She was so incredibly proud of them. Without question, the name she carried with the most pride and joy was “Grandma.” Dianne loved animals of all kinds, particularly “kitties.” Just like the husband, kids and grandkids, the pets in her life were spoiled and pampered too.
As the Valedictorian of Wayne High School’s Class of 1965 and high honors graduate of the University of South Florida, Dianne touched the lives of countless elementary school students throughout her twenty-year teaching career. “Mrs. Perry” never cut corners, working long days and nights to ensure her students had an enriching and fun learning experience in a lively classroom, where every child felt like they were part of something special- and they were. Dianne taught in Minnesota, Michigan and Florida, with her longest tenure at St. Anastasia Catholic School in Fort Pierce, FL.
An avid reader and frequent traveler with her husband, Dianne truly enjoyed taking in a good story and building on her history knowledge. She treated her hobbies with the same level of expertise as her teaching career, from her beautifully crafted needlepoint and sewing pieces to her expertly baked confections. She loved to share her creations with family, friends and neighbors to recognize their birthdays, life events, or just simply to be thoughtful. Anyone who ever received a greeting card from Dianne would agree- she found the perfect sentiment or humorous joke for everyone-and always included an additional note in her exquisite handwriting, praising your qualities and reminding you of your importance and strengths.
Dianne “Grandma” Perry gave us all lovely and treasured memories. We take comfort in knowing that she is now resting in peace and reaping the rewards from a lifetime of generosity and sincerity.
Survivors include her husband Paul W. Perry, Sr. of Fort Pierce, FL; son Paul W. Perry, Jr., his wife Cara and son Will of Palm City, FL; daughter Paula Possmann, her husband Peter and children Madeleine and Lucas of Frankfurt, Germany.
