Brenda Gail Calandro, 71, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family February 12, 2019 in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Brenda was born in Harlan, Kentucky and raised in Jennings County, Indiana. She has resided in Fort Pierce since 1984.

We rejoice as Brenda transitions from her earthly body to God’s Heavenly Kingdom. Brenda is lovingly remembered by her husband, Keith Burd of Fort Pierce, FL; daughter, Kimberly (Clay) Brewer of Fort Pierce, FL; sons, Joshua “Toad” (Michelle) Calandro of Fort Pierce, FL and Joseph Calandro of Indiana; step-daughters, Kimberly and Sabrina; grandchildren, Matthew, Kelsey, Kaitlyn, Caleb, Ian, and Cassidy; 2 bonus grandchildren, James and Jerrett; 2 great grandchildren; siblings, William (Phyllis) Brooks, Glenn (Laurie) Brooks, Michael (Phyllis) Brooks, Lois (Jim) McKeand, Minnie (Jeff) Roberts, and James R. Brooks; along with many nieces and nephews. Brenda was predeceased by her parents, Bill and Bessie Brooks.

Brenda and her husband (Keith Burd) owned and operated Sun Valley Citrus (1988-2002). Here, she established the first packing house (in the state of FL) with an in-house children’s nursery. Sun Valley was more than a place to work, it was a family.

Brenda is respectfully remembered in so many wonderful ways. She was a true inspiration. Whether she was joyfully sharing Jesus & being a spiritual mentor or feeding everyone at the packing house. She was also a talented florist and expert gardener. She loved to travel, especially to Vegas to spend time with family. All were well loved by her.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Treasure Coast Hospice of Fort Pierce, 5000 Dunn Road, Fort Pierce, FL 34981(treasurehealth.org)
