Betty J. Lawrence

Betty J. Lawrence, 89, died April 22, 2019 in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Mrs. Lawrence was born in St. Augustine, Florida and moved to St. Lucie County in 1963.

Betty retired in 1990 after driving a school bus for 17 years for St. Lucie County School Board. She was a member of St. Lucie County Bus Drivers Association, member of Sunrise Tabernacle Church, and past president of the Communications Workers of America, serving two terms for a total of 6 years. She enjoyed reading and shopping.

Survivors include her husband of 73 years, Henry E. Lawrence, Sr.; daughters, Wanda Palm, Paula Brooks, and Lisa Askew; grandchildren, Amanda, Nicholas, Jonathan, Joshua and Katie; great-grandchildren, Brianna, Penelope, Joshua, Collette, Annaliesa, Hayley, Emma, and Owen. She was preceded in death by her son, Henry, Jr. and 2 brothers.

Services: A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 from 10-11 AM with a service to follow at 11:00 AM at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
