Bernadelle L. “Bernie” Long, nee Bann, 71, of Port Saint Lucie, FL, formerly of Freeburg, IL, passed away on March 7, 2018 at her home after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Preceding her in death are her loving husband John G. Long, whom she married on November 8, 1965 in Belleville, IL and passed away October 4,2003; her parents Fred and Leona (nee Pfeiffer) Bann, mother-in-law, Francis “Maggie” (nee Provost) Long.
She is survived by her children; Kimberly (Randy) Renth of Mascoutah, IL, Dr. John (Nancy) Long of Columbia, IL and Joseph (Michelle) Long of Palm City, FL; grandchildren, Allyson (fiancé Dan Kornfeld), Claire, Greg and Kelly Long, as well as Trent and JD Long.
Memorials may be made in her honor to Treasure Coast Hospice; www.treasurehealth.org or the charity of donor’s choice.
Family will hold services privately at a later date. Bernie will be laid to rest with her husband John at South Florida National Cemetery.
