May 27, 1934 - January 3, 2021
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ann Anderson; loving wife, devoted mother and friend to all whose lives she touched, on January 3rd, 2020. She was born Doris Ann Wojciechowski in McRoberts, Kentucky to proud parents Stanley and Mae on the 27th of May in 1934. Being raised in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky instilled in her a beautiful heritage that was tightly knit with family, friends, coffee, country cooking, quilts and the Bible. She and her 2 younger sisters (Shirley and Vickie) became fondly known around town as the ‘Wojie sisters’. They were all fortunate to have been raised in an era where they learned the simplicity of living a rich life close to those you love. Ann met the love of her life, Jonah while still in high school. After graduation, the sweethearts married and moved to Ft. Pierce Florida where together they worked hard and raised their only son, Robbie. For 20 years, Ann was the office manager at the Commercial Longliners, where she was famously known for her sunny smile, gentle hugs and perfect peanut butter pies. Miss Annie became their family and they became hers. She was a longtime member of Southside Christian Church where she made many cherished friends and always considered her church to be a special place of unity and comfort that was so near and dear to her heart. When not working or at church, she could be found spending time in the kitchen creating delicious meals for her family, friends and the kids who were always around her table. She treasured her “children” and embraced every moment with them. Ann is survived by Jonah, her beloved husband of 65 years; her son, Dr. Robert Anderson (Gina); grandson, Jack Maxwell (Aidan & Gio). She treasured her close friend, Carol Blankenbaker (Newell, Clay & Kelly), and loved her like a daughter. Annie was a beautiful combination of a woman who had a deep love for family and a solid understanding of the Lord. Her loving ways have left a beacon of light for our community and she will live on in the hearts of all that loved her. No services are scheduled at this time. A Celebration of her Life will be welcomed at later date, when it is safe to do so.
