Inez Smith Lowry

Inez Smith Lowry, 91, died November 13, 2013 in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Mrs. Lowry was born in Okeechobee, Florida and lived in Fort Pierce since 1930.

She graduated from Fort Pierce High School in 1940. During WWII she worked in Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia as Supervisor of Message Control with the U.S. Army Ordinance Department. She went to work for the City of Fort Pierce in 1959. In 1976 she was appointed as the first female city clerk where she remained until retirement in 1985. After retirement, she volunteered for several local organizations. She was a world traveler and a member of Parkview Baptist for over 50 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Allan Jackson Lowry and daughter, Cynthia Inez Lowry. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
