Yvonne Irene Duguay

January 31, 1936 — September 19, 2017

Yvonne Irene Duguay was born in Attleboro, Massachusetts, on January 31, 1936. She entered Heaven’s gates on September 19, 2017 surrounded by family at her home in Port Saint Lucie, Florida.


A loving mother, Yvonne obtained her GED and later graduated from college with her BSN Cum Laude, becoming a Registered Nurse after three of her children graduated from college. She worked as a nurse in several Rhode Island hospitals until retirement in 1991.

Yvonne enjoyed shuffleboard and played as part of the Fort Pierce Central and Spanish Lakes Leagues earning professional status in the last 2 years of her life; winning her last game as recently as February of 2017! Her competitive spirit did not end with shuffleboard. She also enjoyed many hours challenging family, friends and grandchildren to video games.

Yvonne was an excellent cook and enjoyed sharing recipes with her family. Over the years, she had an unwavering faith in God. She was a member of St. Lucie Catholic Church.

She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Richard Duguay, her son James and her loving companion, Frank Voska. Yvonne is survived by her loving children; son, Richard Duguay, Jr and his wife Linda; daughter, Denise Brierley and husband Kevin; and daughter, Lorraine Andreozzi; four grandchildren, Kristen Scott and husband Brad, Michelle Rice and husband Jordan, Elisa Duguay, and Alexis Brierley. She found great joy in her two great grandsons; Lucas Scott and Cole Rice. She is survived by siblings; Beatrice Melanson, Marie Wakim, and Oscar Desjardin.
