Walter R. Hornsby Jr.

Walter Richard “Fly” Hornsby, Jr., 70, died April 14, 2018 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Mr. Hornsby was born in Asheville, North Carolina and resided in Fort Pierce most of his life.
He was very proud of his daughter and grandchildren; they were the loves of his life. He was a true entertainer and loved playing music. He would dress up and perform locally at Realtos, Frankie & Johnnies and the Fort Pierce Hotel, just to name a few. He made everyone he came in contact with feel like family and loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed camping and fishing.
Survivors include his daughter, Julia Allison Hornsby of Vero Beach, FL; grandchildren, Jillian Gately and Jordan Gately; sisters, Dorothy Blair, Martha Hornsby, Claudia Fulwood, and Linda Peretic, and best friend, Mike Perri. He was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Hornsby and parents, Alice Tibbs Miller and Walter Richard Hornsby, Sr.

Services: A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Midway Road Baptist Church, Fort Pierce. A Celebration of Life will follow at the home of Julia’s mother, Polly Davis.
